30/30: Battles. Warfare. Spritual Armor.

20 05 2009

supernaturalLast Sunday, we began the “Supernatural” Series at Epic. I seriously believe that God is trying to move in big way and we are in the middle of a spiritual battle. What we see with our physical eyes is not all there is, but there is a spiritual world that is just as real and is interconnected with the physical world. Scripture says it this way, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.Ephesians 6:10-12

You and I have a battle, but it’s not against the government, a political party, Hollywood or your boss from hell. Our battle is against “evil forces in the heavenly realms.” The devil is scheming to take you out. So our battle involves faith, prayer and God’s Word. And there are three critical things we all need to remember in this battle….

1. You Are Not Alone in Your Battles. (2 Kings 6:15-17)

2. Your Prayers Are Far More Powerful Than You Know.
(Daniel 10:12-14)

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Ephesians 6:13-18
